Dayspring Christian Academy Constitution Workshop

 

Part of Dayspring Christian Academy’s mission is to restore America to its Christian foundation. Perhaps we realize now more than ever in our nation just how important that is, but many of us don’t really understand the Constitution of the United States of America or the intent of those who wrote it.

You are invited to the Institute on the Constitution  “Uncovering the Foundations: The American View of Law and Government,” a six-week video course by Dr. John Eidsmoe at Dayspring. It runs each  Tuesday, September 14 through November 2. Topics covered are:

  • Lecture 1- A Biblical View of History, Law, and Government
  • Lecture 2- The Discovery, Settlement, and Evangelization of America
  • Lecture 3- The Religious Beliefs of the Founding Fathers
  • Lecture 4- The Founding Fathers' Five Fold Formula
  • Lecture 5- 1776 - 1789: From Independence to the Constitution
  • Lecture 6- An Overview of the Constitution: Preamble, Article 1
  • Lecture 7- An Overview of the Constitution: Articles 2 & 3
  • Lecture 8- An Overview of the Constitution: Articles 4-7
  • Lecture 9- An Overview of the Constitution: The Bill of Rights, the First Amendment
  • Lecture 10- An Overview of the Constitution: Amendments 2-27
  • Lecture 11- The Crisis of the Constitution: From Biblical Absolutes to Evolutionary Humanism
  • Lecture 12- Reclaiming the Constitution: A Victory Plan for Restoring Our Constitutional Heritage
  • Principle Approach education will be covered at a mid-point during the course.

The course runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

 

Two 45-minute lectures are covered each week. In addition, Mike Myers, founder and headmaster of Dayspring Christian Academy, will cover the foundational elements of the Principle Approach® method of education, which is the historic, biblical method of education that helped forge our nation. This was the type of education that produced our founding generation of statesmen who were able to change the world when these principles were applied to the civil realm.

 

There will be time for discussion and questions. Each participant will receive a copy of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Participants should plan to bring three-ring binders as they will receive several handouts throughout the course.
