Meet the Teacher: Ruth Hook
What is your name? Ruth Hook
What do you teach? 1st grade
How many years have you taught at Dayspring? The 2018-2019 school year is my 7th year.
What do you appreciate the most about the Principle Approach? That Scripture is the starting point of all we teach and that the principles permeate all lessons and activities.
What do you see in your students that is most encouraging? The diversity and creativity in the way my students think and express as well as their respect and desire to please.
Why do you love teaching at Dayspring? It is a close community and part of a local community. Even though it is a small school body, Dayspring has a Godly and excellent leader.
How do you teach a biblical worldview in your classroom? Singing, reading scripture and applying these to all we do in the classroom.
What do you think most students appreciate about your class? Being with their friends and building those friendships. My students also enjoy working together!
What is unique about you, your talents, or interests that you bring to the classroom? I bring lots of experience to my classroom, as well as a desire to meet individual needs while enjoying all students.
What have you seen in your students over the years that has touched your heart the most? I love the unique thoughts expressed, singing praise together, when the students engage in helping me and others.
