What is your name? Sharon Perry

What do you teach? P139 Lower School

How many years have you taught at Dayspring? The 2018-2019 school year is my 6th year.

What do you appreciate the most about the Principle Approach? Being able to use Biblical principles in teaching my students.

What do you see in your students that is most encouraging? Even though my students struggle with reading, writing and math, they work hard, always have smiles on their faces, are supportive of each other, like coming to school and express a love for Jesus.

Why do you love teaching at Dayspring? I love teaching in a Christian environment. I love working with my co-workers. I love my students!
I truly feel that Dayspring’s vision of using Principle Approach teaching is important for my young students.

How do you teach a biblical worldview in your classroom? We read about Christian characters. In our daily lessons we talk about how we can use everything we learn to improve our every day lives to be better followers of Christ.

What do you think most students appreciate about your class? I strive to help my students realize that God has created EVERYONE in His image. Each one is special with their own unique strengths and weaknesses.

What is unique about you, your talents, or interests that you bring to the classroom? I love working with young children. I get a sense of fulfillment in helping them reach their potential. I try and create an environment where each of my students feel successful in their abilities. All students need structure in their lives and I strive to have that in my classroom.

What have you seen in your students over the years that has touched your heart the most? I have worked with students who have a wide range of struggles. I do feel I have been able to help my students feel more confident in their abilities. I have also seen my students grow in their knowledge of Christ.

At Dayspring Christian Academy, we are committed to raising up the next generation of Christian leaders who acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ in every area of life, demonstrate a biblical worldview, become citizens of excellence in Christian character and scholarship, and aid in the restoration of America’s biblical foundation.
