What is your name? Jenna Melton
What do you teach? Chemistry, AP Biology, Earth Science
How many years have you taught at Dayspring? The 2018-2019 school year is my second year at Dayspring.
What do you appreciate the most about the Principle Approach? The emphasis on the sovereignty of God
What do you see in your students that is most encouraging? A consideration for the weak or disadvantaged in society. The desire to care for others.
Why do you love teaching at Dayspring? The lab and chemical closet – to make crazy experiments.
How do you teach a biblical worldview in your classroom? Science is the study of God’s general revelation, the study of science tells us more about the character of God and how we are required to serve as His stewards.
What do you think most students appreciate about your class? Experiments and explosions are always the highlights of the lesson.
What is unique about you, your talents, or interests that you bring to the classroom? I never enjoyed science class in school – but, I really enjoyed the creativity that knowing science gave me. So, I am excited about the applications of science and hope to emphasize that in every class.
What have you seen in your students over the years that has touched your heart the most? When lessons learned in science class are applied practically to solve community problems.
