Family Activities:
-Looking for history to explore as a family? One of the hallmarks of a Principle Approach education is the study of America’s Christian history. Third and ninth grade students visit Plymouth, MA, to study the Pilgrims and visit the National Monument to the Forefathers. It is a little-known statue that happens to be the largest granite monument in the country. The statue is a history lesson cast in symbols, a road map of sorts that could point us back to the foundational ideals of America. You can read more about the National Monument to the Forefathers here and here.
-The Library of Congress offers “America’s Library” where you can learn more about famous Americans, jump back in time and hear/read stories from a specific era, explore the states, and watch a movie, hear a song, play a tune from America’s past. Check it out!
-Learn and explore our world with the Smithsonian Institution! See some of the Smithsonian collection in 3D, meet the animals at the National Zoo, try out the Science Game Center, and discover the wealth of learning resources at the Learning Lab!
-At Dayspring, field studies are a BIG DEAL! We love to learn on site! With travel being limited, you can take virtual field trips all over the world with Road Trip from Home! While you are exploring our amazing world online, check out the world’s tallest Ferris wheel!
-Adventures in Odyssey: Join the characters you love as they travel around the world or spend the day in Odyssey. Each audio episode will come with a special video documentary and a set of activities, called Web Quests.
